Back again again

I started the last quarter of my senior year on Monday which is INSANE. It's going to take a while to sink in, but I'm definitely ready to graduate (or at least go on May Project!)(seniors get the month of May off to pursue an independent project)(hehehehheh).
It's super stupid (or is it?), but I can't stop thinking about prawm (prom). I ordered a potential dress from, so we'll see how that goes. I tell ya, I see a flower crown in my future.

I live in Chicago, which means I'm right by Lollapalooza! Tickets went on sale this week, and my TWO FAVORITE ARTISTS (Lana del Rey and Azealia Banks) are playing.
i'm going to be

I also really like the band Wild Belle, and they're playing on Sunday. You might've heard their song "Keep You," which is so beautiful.

Also, the video for "It's Too Late" is amazing. I've posted it below, but OH MY GOD her style is amazing.

 Her pants!

 Her dance moves

I suck at taking screenshots, but her SHIRT

Middle part + crop top = perfection

Her hair color asghasgahj

My friend said I remind her of the singer (Natalie) and I was like :'''''''''')))

Here's an outfit that I wore a few weeks ago before Spring Break!

My mom's necklace from high school, hand me down shirt and pants, platforms from Forever 21

Glad to be back. Thanks for sticking with me!

Ugh. I really fell down on the job.

I haven't posted in OVER A MONTH. I guess you could say that's a pretty bad start to this new blog. Oh well, here we go again.
I've been really busy organizing this day my school has called "Artsfest" where we hire an outside act, order t-shrts, paint a mural and students/teachers lead artsy workshops. It was a lot of work, but it's finally over!
Seeing as I don't have any especially interesting recent pictures, I'll just show you a jumble of some things I've been looking at.

This was over a year ago, Fall 2011. I was j. chillin in my wool sweater aka a sheep

May/June 2012? Right before school let out
Senior picture HOLLA! The photographer said he liked the "doily" I was wearing...
 Yah. Moonrise Kingdom
I'm feelin' some Oscars/Prom vibes and obviously, this one can NEVER BE BEAT
My 3 best friends and I were Pussy Riot for Halloween. yah w/e we're kewl don't make a big deal out of it, stawp guiz ur makin me blush :''')
Angsty school picture attempt? Feelin' all SATANIC and ~~~REBELLIOUS~~~

It's been a really tough quarter so far, so I'm trying to be a bit more relaxed/laid back. And I'm trying to enjoy my senior year!

Hope I haven't lost you guys! I'm glad to be back (again),

I've always admired Alex Prager's beautiful photographs. Here are a few of my favorites and the ~vibes~ I feel from them. You can see more of her work here.

Alex Prager photos from her website, Valley of the Dolls book, Valley of the Dolls screencaps, a moodboard I made this summer (complete with a bottle of Holy Water), Jawbreaker screencaps from here, here and here.

I'm going to try an outfit inspired by these vibes tomorrow. Three day weekend!!

Love, Caroline

P.S. I'm about to watch "The Clique." Alone. Why....

dreary friday

I wore this outfit last Friday, which was the last day of an exhausting week. I was really comfortable and warm, so I didn't mind the messiness of the outfit.

 Target sweater, thrifted skirt
Here's a close up of the skirt. There are little scenes on it, i.e. a woman pushing a baby carriage, a couple sitting at a cafe, people shopping etc.

Because I have a three-day weekend, expect some exciting posts! With actual words... It's 10am on Sunday morning and I'm still groggy.

valley of the....

Hi guys!

The next two weeks are super stressful for me in terms of schoolwork and all that. I'm looking forward to my Senior Class Trip (sledding, inflatable bouncy castles etc. for a weekend? Yes). The night before we leave, I'm going to try and pick up a disposable camera from Walgreens.

I made a quick little moodboard the other day. I was thinking pink/60s prints and vibes. Also a little bit of "old" Hollywood. I made a collage over the summer that was supposed to be a critique on old Hollywood and the drug culture of it. I wish I was more clever and original, but you'll have to forgive me this time!

Valley of the Dolls record and Life magazine from 1971 were both gifts, Valley of the Dolls book from Amazon (I believe?), thrifted skirt beneath it all, hair clips from dollar store, thrifted Barbie sweater set, Sweethearts from Valentine's Day last year!

Hope you're all having a wonderful start to your week!

Ever since school started up again, I've been sort of blue. I usually become quite introverted in the winter. It starts with the fact that the cold Chicago air is really bad for my extra-sensitive skin. So I spend a lot of time inside. I think I'm probably just a little bummed to be back at school again. I feel like the school year should be over, but I have 4-5 more months.

Here's a little compilation of my mood.

Lime Crime Lipstick in "No She Didn't"

A picture my friend took of a 4th of July swim in Lake Michigan (I can't tell which one I am...)

Girl, Interrupted

Lana del Rey's "Bel Air"
So beautiful and eerie. The lyrics are heavenly

Hi all!
I'm not exactly new to the whole blog-o-sphere, but I took quite a break and now I'm starting fresh. It was too embarrassing to look at my blog from Freshman and Sophomore year, so it's been deleted...
I'm a senior in high school now, and I'm getting ready for the finale (June 13th!).
I probably like the things you like: hot chocolate, thrifting, reading, Ouija board-ing, records, and giraffes (maybe that's just me?)
Anyways, I hope you find something new or interesting on this blog/journal. Otherwise, thanks for stopping by!
